Dust Collectors for Cement and Lime

Cement production involves raw material crushing, grinding, blending, clinker calcination in a rotary kiln, and final cement grinding and packaging. These processes generate large amounts of dust, including limestone, clay, and clinker dust, which can cause air pollution, equipment wear, and health hazards. Dust collectors, such as baghouse filters, ESPs, and cyclone separators, are essential for capturing fine dust at crushers, kilns, mills, and conveyors.

How to Choose Dust Collectors for Cement and Lime

Both cement and lime production involve crushing, grinding, kiln calcination, and material handling, generating large volumes of fine, dry, and abrasive dust. The dust contains limestone, clinker, and calcium oxide particles, which are highly airborne, respirable, and cause equipment wear. High temperatures and gas emissions further complicate dust control. Dust collectors effectively capture fine particulates at kilns, mills, and conveyors, ensuring air quality.

High-Temperature Resistance

Kiln and clinker production generate high-temperature exhaust gases, requiring heat-resistant filter media like fiberglass, Nomex, or PTFE-coated filters.

Corrosion and Abrasion Resistance

Cement dust is highly abrasive, requiring dust collectors with wear-resistant coatings and durable filter materials. Corrosion-resistant designs are needed for alkaline and acidic gas exposure.

Continuous and Heavy-Duty Operation

Cement plants operate 24/7, so dust collectors must have automatic filter cleaning systems (pulse-jet cleaning) to prevent clogging and ensure uninterrupted performance.

Large Airflow Capacity

Cement production generates high dust loads, requiring customized airflow designs to maintain efficiency while minimizing pressure drop and energy consumption.

High Filtration Efficiency

The system must effectively capture fine cement dust, clinker dust, and raw material particulates. Baghouse filters, electrostatic precipitators (ESPs), and cyclone separators are commonly used for different dust load levels.
